Growing up a fair-skinned sun lover in sun-soaked Hawaii, I’ve had my fair share of sunburns. Long weekend soccer tournaments or high-noon beach days as a kid landed adult me in the dermatologist’s office for liquid nitrogen treatments to freeze pre-cancers off my poor pout! The last couple of decades I have been more mindful of covering my lips with SPF, but traditional products often contained harmful ingredients or lacked vibrant colors—sometimes both. Not to mention that awful bitter taste of sunscreen in your mouth – yuck! All this combined with my love of bright lipstick inspired me to create a lip zinc that captures the playful, beachy vibe without compromising on quality.
